Grapefruit Diet Recipe


Grapefruit and Orange Salad

Serves 4

Grapefruit and Orange Salad Ingredient:

2 plain or ruby grapefruit
4 oranges
pared rind and juice of 1 lemon
4 tbsp clear honey
2 tbsp warm water
1 fresh mint sprig, roughly chopped
55 g/ 2 oz chopped toasted walnut.

Preparation Method for Grapefruit Orange Salad

Using a sharp knife, slice the top and bottom from the grapefruit, the slice away the skin and pith.  Cut between each segment of the grapefruit and remove the fleshy part only, discarding the membranes.

Using a sharp knife, remove the skin and pith of the orange.  Cut between each segment of the orange to remove the fleshy part, discarding the membranes.  Add the oranges segment to the grapefruit.

Place the lime rind, 2 tbsps of lime juice, the honey and warm water in a small bowl.  Whisk with fork to mix the dressing.  Pour the dressing of the segmented fruit , add chopped mint and mix well.  Set aside to chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours for the flavors to mingle.

Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the fruit and serve.
